The Plague (2025): Tihi odjek kraja sveta

Recenzija filma: The Plague (2025)

Radnja i Atmosfera

Gluma i Režija

Presuda

The Plague je težak film.

Movie Review: The Plague (2025)

The Plague is far from the typical pandemic thriller we’ve grown accustomed to post-2020. The director delivers a visually stunning yet deeply unsettling character study set against the backdrop of total societal collapse.

Plot and Atmosphere

The film follows a small group of survivors in an isolated mountain village as the world outside succumbs to an unknown pathogen. What sets this film apart is the deliberate absence of high-octane action or cheap jump scares. Instead, the focus remains on psychological tension and a silence that becomes increasingly deafening. The cinematography is cold, dominated by grey and blue hues that perfectly mirror the characters’ emotional desolation.

Acting and Direction

The cast delivers understated yet powerhouse performances. There is no room for melodrama or grand speeches; fear is conveyed through hollow stares and brief, fragmented dialogue. The direction is surgically precise, often employing long takes that force the audience to sit with the discomfort of every passing second.

Verdict

The Plague is a difficult watch. It offers no easy catharsis or convenient resolutions. It is a meditation on impermanence and what remains of humanity once the veneers of civilization are stripped away. If you’re looking for light Saturday night entertainment, look elsewhere. But if you want a film that will haunt your thoughts for days, this is a modern masterpiece.
